Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Perform initial patient screenings, verify insurance information, and update medical records accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Vital Signs & Exams: Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and assist physicians with patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Phlebotomy: Draw blood samples for laboratory analysis with precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule appointments, manage prescription refills, and prepare required documentation for billing and insurance claims.
- Medication Management: Assist in medication reconciliation and ensuring patients understand their treatment plans under physician supervision.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies during the night shift.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from the AAMA or AMT.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a night shift role.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient education and empathy.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using EMR/EHR software and medical laboratory equipment.
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
