Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for patients according to physician orders.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, restock shelves, and manage incoming shipments efficiently to ensure product availability.
- Patient Assistance: Provide friendly and accurate information to patients regarding their medications, dosage, and usage instructions.
- Quality Control: Verify prescriptions for correct dosage, potential drug interactions, and patient information before dispensing.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, safety protocols, and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification or equivalent state license is required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred but not always required for enthusiastic new graduates.
- Skills: Strong mathematical skills and proficiency with computer systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
