Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Maintain precise patient records and prescription information in electronic health systems
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Assist in preparing sterile and non-sterile compounded medications
- Ensure strict compliance with DEA, FDA, and DC Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with team to optimize pharmacy workflow and efficiency
Qualifications
- Active DC Pharmacy Technician license (or ability to obtain immediately)
- PHTA certification or equivalent credential preferred
- 1+ years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions
- Excellent attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Valid CPR certification
