Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with minimal discomfort.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, OSHA standards, and infection control procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and specimen logs.
- Interact professionally with patients to alleviate anxiety and explain procedures clearly.
- Sort, label, and transport specimens to the laboratory for processing.
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with nurses and medical staff to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or eligible to obtain certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent dexterity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume medical environment.
- Valid driver’s license (if required for travel to satellite locations).
