Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance payers within 48-hour turnaround
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits pre-appointment
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through systematic appeals
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and Wisconsin state regulations
- Generate monthly accounts receivable reports for financial analysis
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document chargeable services accurately
- Conduct regular audits of billing codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credentials required
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Expert knowledge of insurance claim processes and reimbursement methodologies
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Wisconsin Medicaid and Medicare programs
