Responsibilities
- Accurately greet patients, verify insurance information, and collect co-pays at check-in.
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
- Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight, etc.) and medical history.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and medication.
- Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR) and ensure all documentation is complete and confidential.
- Administer injections and medications as directed by the provider.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and referrals.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or urgent care setting is preferred.
- Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
