Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify demographics, and perform initial vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) to ensure accurate patient records.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Procedures: Prepare patients for exams, draw blood, administer injections (as permitted by state law), and perform basic EKGs.
- Administrative Tasks: Schedule appointments, process insurance verifications, and maintain electronic health records (EHR) with precision.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock examination rooms, medical supplies, and medications to ensure readiness for daily operations.
- Communication: Educate patients on medications, post-care instructions, and preventive health measures effectively and compassionately.
- Sanitation: Adhere strictly to hygiene protocols and safety regulations to maintain a sterile environment.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification: Current CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), NCMA, or equivalent certification required.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Availability: Must be available to work full-time night shifts (e.g., 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) on a rotating schedule.
- Skills: Strong computer proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Compliance: Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
