Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to OSHA safety standards
- Provide patient education and emotional support during procedures
- Utilize LIS systems for sample tracking and documentation
- Collaborate with lab professionals to ensure timely testing
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in fast-paced environments
- Excellent venipuncture skills with proven low-miss rate
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure with multiple priorities
- CPR/BLS certification preferred (will provide training)
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license for mobile collection services
