Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone and triage calls to determine medical urgency
- Provide expert guidance to patients regarding appropriate care pathways
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Handle emergency situations with calm professionalism and decisive action
- Delicate patient education on symptoms and next steps
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in District of Columbia
- Minimum 2 years triage or emergency department experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- BSN or higher preferred
