Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Turn, reposition, and move patients to prevent bedsores and ensure comfort.
- Administer medications as prescribed and report any adverse reactions or changes in patient condition.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required in the District of Columbia or Virginia.
- Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
