Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse, according to protocol.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring and positioning.
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing staff and physicians immediately.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients and visitors.
- Document daily care activities and patient interactions accurately in electronic health records.
- Support patients and families with emotional needs and education regarding care plans.
Qualifications
- Current Illinois CNA Certification (or equivalent state license).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not always required for immediate hires.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate bedside manner.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
