Responsibilities
- Provide direct, hands-on patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations) and report any abnormalities to the Charge Nurse immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nursing staff, following the five rights of medication administration.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Florida State CNA License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a long-term care, hospital, or home health setting is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a night shift team environment.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift patients frequently throughout the shift.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
