Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and blood glucose levels.
- Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in a patient's condition, behavior, or physical appearance to the supervising nurse or physician immediately.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
Qualifications
- Education: Current and active CNA certification (or enrollment in a state-approved nursing program).
- Licensure: Valid New York State CNA license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks as required by the job description.
