Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and report abnormalities to nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their hospital stay.
- Document patient care plans, intake, and output accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Transport patients safely using wheelchairs and stretchers to different departments.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic patient care.
Qualifications
- Current California CNA License and registration with the Department of Public Health.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality of care.
