Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance
- Monitor and document vital signs, patient behavior, and medical conditions
- Assist with mobility transfers and positioning to prevent pressure ulcers
- Administer medications under RN supervision per facility protocols
- Maintain clean, safe patient environments following OSHA guidelines
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Respond promptly to call lights and emergency situations
Qualifications
- Active DC Certified Nursing Assistant license in good standing
- Minimum 1 year recent CNA experience in acute care or long-term setting
- Current CPR/BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand/walk for extended periods
- Proficient in electronic medical records documentation systems
- Strong interpersonal skills with empathy for vulnerable populations
- Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screening
