Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation to prevent falls and injuries.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or behavior to the nursing staff promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents.
- Administer medications as directed by licensed nurses and accurate documentation.
Qualifications
- Valid and current North Carolina CNA Certification (required).
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
