Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment as needed.
- Observe patients for changes in physical or mental condition and report any abnormalities to the charge nurse or physician immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients, ensuring all medical equipment is sanitized.
- Serve meals and assist patients with feeding according to dietary restrictions and doctor's orders.
- Document patient care activities, moods, and behaviors accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Qualifications
- Current and valid CNA license issued by the state of Ohio.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (CPR) required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care, home health, or hospital setting is preferred but not mandatory for qualified candidates.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine commitment to patient dignity and respect.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
