Responsibilities
- Chairside assistance during complex dental procedures including restorative, cosmetic, and surgical treatments
- Manage sterilization protocols and infection control compliance per OSHA standards
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for efficient clinical workflows
- Take accurate digital radiographs and assist with intraoral photography
- Manage patient scheduling, recall systems, and digital chart documentation
- Assist in emergency procedures and handle medical emergencies with calm professionalism
- Train and mentor new dental assistants on clinic protocols and best practices
Qualifications
- New York State Dental Assistant certification (or eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a general or specialty dental practice
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar dental management software
- CPR/BLS certification with current credentials
- DEXIS/Radiography certification preferred
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to build patient rapport
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining composure
