Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
- Preparation: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and set up dental equipment according to infection control protocols.
- Imaging: Take and develop digital X-rays and dental impressions (models) as directed by the dentist.
- Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Administrative: Manage patient records, update charts, and assist with scheduling appointments efficiently.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict adherence to OSHA and CDC guidelines regarding sterilization and sanitation.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification.
- Licensure: Valid California Dental Board license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a general dentistry practice is preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and modern imaging technology.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.
