Responsibilities
- Chair-side Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and efficiency.
- Patient Care: Take and develop dental X-rays, expose and process digital images, and prepare patients for procedures.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict sterilization protocols and adhere to OSHA safety standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Record Keeping: Accurately update and maintain patient medical and dental records, including charting treatment plans.
- Front Office Support: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and assist with scheduling appointments.
- Education: Provide post-operative instructions and oral hygiene guidance to patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent on-the-job training.
- Certification: Current certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in a general dentistry setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in using dental software and modern radiography equipment.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Organization: Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
