Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and accurately complete registration forms to ensure a smooth check-in process.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers during examinations by preparing instruments, positioning patients, and handing instruments as needed.
- Vital Signs & Diagnostics: Measure and record vital signs (BP, weight, height, etc.) and perform EKGs or point-of-care testing.
- Phlebotomy: Draw blood samples for laboratory analysis with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Administrative Management: Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR), schedule follow-up appointments, and handle patient inquiries professionally.
- Medication & Education: Verify patient allergies and medications, and provide clear education on treatment plans and preventative care.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty setting is preferred.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills and familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Professionalism: Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
