Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and prepare them for examinations.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during medical procedures and examinations.
- Procedures: Administer medications, injections, and vaccines as directed by providers.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse).
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate medical records, update patient charts, and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Room Preparation: Ensure examination rooms are stocked, sanitized, and organized for patient safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification preferred.
- Licensure: Michigan State Medical Assistant license or eligibility to obtain one.
- CPR: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting (preferred).
- Skills: Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow protocols and maintain high standards of patient privacy (HIPAA compliance).
