Responsibilities
- Conduct Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and accurately record medical histories and vital signs.
- Assist Providers: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist physicians and nurses during clinical procedures.
- Phlebotomy & Lab: Perform blood draws and collect laboratory specimens following strict safety and safety protocols.
- Manage Records: Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring all documentation is timely and accurate.
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, ensuring proper dosage and patient safety.
- Communication: Serve as a vital link between patients and the healthcare team, answering questions and providing instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
- License: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or urgent care setting preferred.
- Availability: Must be available to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of EHR software and medical terminology.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy and patient confidentiality.
