Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians and nurses during medical procedures.
- Accurately measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccines as directed by licensed providers.
- Manage patient intake, verify insurance information, and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Coordinate patient appointments, manage follow-up calls, and handle front-desk reception duties.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency with EMR software (Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and as part of a team.
