Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies with 95%+ accuracy
- Manage denial resolution and appeals processes for rejected claims
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits pre-service
- Reconcile accounts receivable and resolve outstanding balances
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Generate monthly reports on key performance indicators
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document chargeable services
- Stay updated on coding guidelines (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a US healthcare setting
- Proficiency in Epic, Athenahealth, or similar EHR systems
- Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) or CPC preferred
- Deep knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Familiarity with Massachusetts healthcare regulations
