Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict safety protocols
- Process, label, and transport specimens to the laboratory with 100% accuracy
- Maintain sterile equipment and verify patient identification before procedures
- Provide exceptional patient care during blood draws, minimizing discomfort
- Document collection data in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and OSHA safety standards
Qualifications
- Current Missouri Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical blood draw experience
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency in EHR documentation systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must pass background check and drug screening
