Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications with meticulous accuracy under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA
- Administer vaccinations and perform basic health screenings when certified
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy outcomes
- Maintain sterile compounding areas and adhere to USP <797> standards
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (CPhT)
- Minimum 2 years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Certification through PTCB or ExCPT preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of DEA regulations and controlled substance protocols
- Excellent attention to detail and error-prevention skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-volume environments
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
