Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and maintain electronic health records with precision
- Provide exceptional patient consultations on medication usage and potential side effects
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication regimens
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy workspace
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong mathematical accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Basic knowledge of pharmacology and medical terminology
- Valid state pharmacy technician license
