Responsibilities
- Medication Dispensing: Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Inventory Management: Maintain stock levels, conduct cycle counts, and order pharmaceutical supplies
- Patient Interaction: Provide medication counseling and answer patient inquiries
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to DEA, HIPAA, and Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Technology Proficiency: Utilize pharmacy software for prescription processing and record-keeping
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists and healthcare staff to ensure seamless operations
- Quality Control: Perform final prescription verification and error prevention checks
Qualifications
- Certification: Active PTCB or ExCPT certification required
- Experience: Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Licensure: Valid Texas Pharmacy Technician license
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, math proficiency, and computer literacy
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
- Background: Clean criminal record and drug-free workplace compliance
- Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable
