Responsibilities
- Prepare and Package Medications: Accurately dispense prescription medications and prepare patient packages under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify Information: Review prescriptions for completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness; verify patient information and insurance details.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, restock shelves, and manage pharmacy inventory to ensure products are always available.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with over-the-counter medication recommendations and answer pharmacy-related inquiries professionally.
- Administrative Tasks: Process insurance claims, manage filing systems, and maintain accurate records of dispensed medications.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to all state and federal laws, including HIPAA and DEA regulations, ensuring patient privacy and safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification required (or willing to obtain within 90 days).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; PharmD or Associate degree in Pharmacy Technology preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is highly preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy and a strong focus on patient safety.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and computer operations.
