Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing, insurance claims, and inventory control
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, FDA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Assist in training new pharmacy technicians and interns
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or NHA certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and dispensing technology
- Strong attention to detail with proven medication error prevention skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Basic knowledge of pharmacology and drug interactions
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
