Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications for patients accurately and efficiently.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prescription orders to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
- Assist the Pharmacist in reviewing prescriptions for drug interactions and proper dosage.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical products.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries regarding medications and insurance coverage.
- Operate pharmacy dispensing software and point-of-sale systems accurately.
- Assist with the billing process and processing insurance claims.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required; new graduates encouraged to apply.
- Current state Pharmacy Technician license (or eligibility to obtain one).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with electronic health records.
