Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and auditing controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain precise electronic health records and pharmacy software documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
- Adhere strictly to HIPAA compliance and pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required
- Minimum 1 year of retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Must pass background check and drug screening
