Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory, order pharmaceutical supplies, and maintain stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and verify patient information for seamless transactions
- Provide exceptional customer service while educating patients on medication usage
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, FDA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy workspace
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize dispensing workflows
Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent; PTCB certification preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years pharmacy experience in retail or hospital setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex medication instructions
