Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens according to strict protocols
- Verify patient identity and maintain accurate electronic records
- Operate centrifuges and lab equipment safely
- Collaborate with nursing staff on specimen collection priorities
- Maintain sterile work areas and infection control standards
- Provide compassionate care to diverse patient populations
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance
- Excellent venipuncture skills on diverse patient demographics
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends
