Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipunctures and capillary blood collection following OSHA and CLIA standards
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain sterile collection environments and equipment calibration
- Provide patient education on blood draw procedures and aftercare
- Coordinate specimen transport and track laboratory requisitions
- Utilize LIS systems for efficient documentation and inventory management
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- Current Florida Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a fast-paced setting
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to multitask efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and specimen handling protocols
- Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation
