Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across diverse units including ICU, ER, and Med-Surg
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies with precision and safety protocols
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor patient vitals and respond rapidly to changes in condition using advanced assessment skills
- Document patient progress accurately in electronic health records while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Mentor new staff and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure strict adherence to hospital policies and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Illinois (compact license preferred)
- BSN degree with 2+ years of acute care experience (new grads welcome with externship)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Proven expertise in medication administration, IV therapy, and critical care monitoring
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to de-escalate complex situations
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
- Proficiency in Epic EHR systems and electronic documentation
- Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practices
