Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, arranging instruments, and ensuring sterility protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and monitor equipment functionality throughout surgeries
- Transport patients safely to/from operating areas and perform pre/post-operative care
- Inventory and manage surgical supplies while adhering to budget constraints
- Document procedures accurately and maintain compliance with OSHA/JCAHO standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in acute care settings
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Strong teamwork skills with ability to anticipate surgeon needs
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
