Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Triage incoming patients based on acuity and allocate resources efficiently
- Initiate emergency interventions for critical cases including CPR, hemorrhage control
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff for coordinated care
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EHR system with 100% compliance
- Provide clear communication to patients/families regarding wait times and care plans
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California (BRN)
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required
- ESI Triage certification preferred
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (Epic preferred)
- Exceptional triage assessment skills with proven critical thinking
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during high-volume situations
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
