Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize ER cases using ESI protocols
- Collaborate with physicians to develop appropriate care plans
- Provide patient education on treatment pathways and discharge instructions
- Document all encounters accurately in Epic EMR systems
- Maintain triage logs and communicate bed status to hospital units
- Train new staff on triage procedures and emergency protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years ER or urgent care experience
- ACLS/BLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
- Proficiency in ESI triage methodology
- Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-stress environments
- Epic EMR experience mandatory
- Bachelor's in Nursing preferred
