Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments to determine acuity levels and prioritize care in emergency settings
- Accurately document patient histories, symptoms, and vital signs using EMR systems
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans
- Provide education to patients and families regarding emergency procedures and next steps
- Monitor patient flow and communicate bed availability to department leadership
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and hospital protocols for patient confidentiality
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department or triage experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and de-escalation skills
- Proficiency in Epic EMR systems
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- BSN preferred or commitment to obtain within 12 months
