Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone or secure digital portal to determine acuity and urgency of care needs.
- Provide accurate medical advice and triage instructions, ensuring patients understand their treatment options.
- Coordinate timely referrals to physicians, urgent care centers, or emergency departments as necessary.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other members of the care team.
- Maintain a deep understanding of current clinical guidelines, pharmacy updates, and emergency protocols.
- Manage high call volumes efficiently while maintaining a compassionate and professional demeanor.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered RN license in the state of Texas.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in triage, emergency, or urgent care settings.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make rapid, safe, and accurate clinical decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient education.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech) is highly preferred.
