Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance, ensuring the highest standard of comfort and hygiene.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any abnormalities to the Registered Nurse immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring, walking, and using walkers or wheelchairs, while maintaining safety protocols.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and assist patients with feeding as needed.
- Document patient care activities, including intake and output, and update patient charts accurately and timely.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in patient rooms and common areas.
Qualifications
- Current and valid state certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to empathize with patients and families.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict healthcare regulations and safety standards.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift patients weighing up to 250 lbs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for some units.
