Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting to ensure their comfort and dignity.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by nursing staff.
- Assist with Mobility: Safely transfer and reposition patients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent falls and injuries.
- Document Care: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient logs, documenting care provided and any changes in patient condition.
- Communicate Effectively: Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team, reporting concerns and updates promptly.
- Prepare Treatments: Prepare and administer medications and treatments as authorized and supervised by licensed nurses.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, unencumbered Maryland CNA license required.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (American Heart Association) is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on patient advocacy.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Soft Skills: Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to quality patient care.
