Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities immediately.
- Medication Assistance: Support the nursing team in administering medication and treatments as prescribed, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status, concerns, and needs to the charge nurse and interdisciplinary team members.
- Safety & Hygiene: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to all infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Emotional Support: Offer compassionate emotional support to patients and their families, fostering a positive and healing atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of California.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Interpersonal: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients as needed; ability to stand for extended periods.
