Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor Health: Accurately measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Medication Assistance: Support the medication administration process by preparing and organizing medications as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, ensuring all entries are timely and precise.
- Environment Maintenance: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and sanitized at all times to prevent infection and promote a healing environment.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team, ensuring patient concerns and feedback are communicated effectively.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active California CNA license and registration on the CDPH registry.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Schedule Availability: Must be available to work a full weekend schedule (Saturday and Sunday) consistently.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is highly preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed; physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills and a genuine, empathetic demeanor towards patients and families.
