Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, medical histories, and documenting personal information.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and medical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and draw blood samples (phlebotomy) as required.
- Manage patient records, update Electronic Health Records (EHR) accurately, and ensure strict HIPAA compliance.
- Schedule patient appointments, handle incoming calls, and coordinate referrals to specialists.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic environment for all patients and visitors.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a busy medical office or urgent care setting.
- Strong proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexible weekend schedules (Saturday and/or Sunday).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
