Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake procedures, including verifying demographic and insurance information accurately.
  • Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and height and weight.
  • Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and privacy.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, such as EKGs, urine analysis, and point-of-care testing (POCT).
  • Manage and maintain medical records, including electronic health records (EHR) documentation.
  • Provide patient education and instructions regarding treatment plans and medications.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
  • Ability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) with flexibility for occasional overtime.
