Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intakes, including reviewing medical history and obtaining vital signs with precision.
- Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and minor medical interventions.
- Perform basic laboratory duties, including phlebotomy and EKGs.
- Maintain and sterilize examination rooms and medical equipment according to strict safety protocols.
- Document patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes accurately into Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Coordinate patient follow-up care and referrals to specialists.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families, ensuring a welcoming environment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA) required; graduation from an accredited program is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Proven experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a primary care or specialty office.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centric care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Reliable attendance and the ability to work Saturday and Sunday rotations.
