Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics, and escort them to examination rooms while maintaining a professional and welcoming demeanor.
- Vital Signs & Measurements: Accurately measure and record patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height.
- Procedures: Assist providers with basic procedures, including injections, wound care, and phlebotomy as directed.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient charts, update medical records, prepare lab requisitions, and handle insurance verification.
- Lab & Specimen Handling: Collect non-patient-specific lab specimens, ensuring proper labeling and handling according to HIPAA guidelines.
- Environment Maintenance: Clean and sterilize medical equipment and exam rooms between patient visits to ensure infection control standards are met.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and providers, answering questions and providing medication and aftercare instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program; currently certified or eligible to obtain certification (CMA, RMA, or MA) is preferred.
- Licensure: Current Arizona Board of Nursing Medical Assistant license or comparable state certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical setting, preferably in a primary care or specialty practice.
- Schedule Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a consistent basis.
- Skills: Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and basic medical software.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
